Emily Domres is a watercolor painter based in Minneapolis. Her most recent work focuses on realistic botanical studies and landscapes inspired by her travels to Central and South America. Vibrant colors and watery textures lend to themes of whimsy and joy that are integral to her practice.

In 2024-25, she attended the Emerging Artist residency at St. Olaf College. During the year, she created a series of oil paintings that combine themes of memory and nostalgia with femininity and girlhood. This work complicates moments of celebration with mourning and reconnecting with girlhood. Saturated colors and dream-like auras blend realistic subjects with abstracted environments.
